This month we celebrate the community of 400 stakeholders who decided to join the conversation on solving energy poverty in Europe! Let’s build green and Elevate aims to raise awareness about green housing as a part of the solution.
“Homes that are energy efficient, incorporate green energy, and follow sustainable construction principles provide cost savings, comfort, and a healthy living environment for all citizens” says Elena Rastei, SMARTER4EU project coordinator.
The campaign has already brought together over 300 entities from 25 countries worldwide. All united around one goal - engaging public and private stakeholders in a dialogue on new hybrid funding opportunities which would make green housing accessible to low-income groups.

Where do Let’s build green and Elevate signatories come from?
“We are proud to see that our campaign attracts a variety of public and private stakeholders understanding the need to jointly create new ways of public-private (hybrid) funding of green housing projects for vulnerable families” say’s Iva Merheim-Eyre, coordinator of this campaign.
“Signatories include staffers of UN bodies and national development agencies, green building councils, housing developers, consultancy companies, municipal officials and municipal employees responsible for green energy transition and spatial planning” she adds.

Since the start of the campaign, over 200 people got access to green housing online courses providing knowledge needed to find the common language between public and private sector.
In October 2024, seven Ukrainian and Portuguese municipalities joined the roundtable with developers and financial institutions at the SMARTER4EU conference in Dublin and the newly established Centre of Excellence is going to provide a platform and tools for further cooperation beyond the timespan of the SMARTER4EU project.
